You know what's a surefire way to feel good?

Reading your work out loud in class and having your poetry professor go "I wish I had written that." to something you wrote.

I take comfort that even if I suck at paper-writing, at least I can write a half-decent poem!

 It was an emotionally exhausting day, what with being an amateur firefighter (see previous entry) and other things.  I tried all day to sit down and do work, I really did, but the universe continually thwarted my plans.  I did, however, manage to get my poetry reading done, write half a poem and go through a few of the books for my English project ( Read more... )

Just had to put out the same fire TWICE to keep my apartment building from catching on fire.  I grabbed the fire extinguisher and Jackie the Taller called 911 and some other guys helped, but the fire wasn't TOO big to begin with, thank goodness so we managed to get it pretty under control by ourselves ( Read more... )
